The Wait Until 8th pledge empowers parents to rally together to delay giving children a smartphone until at least 8th grade. We would recommend waiting even longer!

MEET CIRCLE

www.meetcircle.com

Circle is an easy way to manage all your family’s connected devices, wherever they are, wherever they go. Kids need sleep. A safe way to browse. And the occasional break. Set guidelines around when and where your kids spend their online screen time.

COVENANT EYES

www.covenanteyes.com

Our screen accountability software periodically captures screenshots of your screen activity and stores them securely on your device. Advanced artificial intelligence analyzes those screenshots, on your device, for explicit imagery. The software rates the images, blurs them to protect your privacy, then prioritizes them based on content. A report of concerning activity, circumvention attempts and other activity is sent to you and your ally. Our accountability service is designed to help defeat pornography by monitoring your screen activity and sending a report to a trusted ally who holds you accountable for your online choices.

BARK

www.bark.us

Bark's affordable, award-winning service proactively monitors text messages, YouTube, emails, and 24 different social networks for potential safety concerns, so busy parents can save time and gain peace of mind.

PROTECT YOUNG MINDS

www.protectyoungminds.org

Our mission is to empower parents, professionals and community leaders to protect young kids from pornography, and promote healing from any sexual exploitation. They also have produced two good books as resources for parents; Good Pictures, Bad Pictures and Good Pictures, Bad Pictures, Jr.

VIRTUE IN MEDIA

Virtue in Media

Chris McKenna, founder of Protect Young Eyes, has created a streaming video curriculum that teaches about the latest digital trends. They do this through a library of short videos, in-class discussion guides, bilingual at-home conversation guides, bilingual at-home video content, teacher professional development sessions, church and school policy examples, newsletter and social media content, and more. Our goal is to help schools and homes create a Christ-centered view of using technology. This site is found within Protect Young Eyes but feel it is a strong enough resource that it deserved special attention here.

SAVE THE KIDS

www.savethekids.us

Cigarettes 2.0: Not long ago, medical doctors endorsed, advertised for, and prescribed cigarettes to their patients. We look back at those ads and say "What were they thinking?" Research is now proving the epidemic rise in teen anxiety, depression, and suicide is linked to smart phone & social media use. Our kids have been guinea pigs in a tech experiment gone horribly wrong. We are facing a national public health crisis, and it's time to fix it. What side of history will we be on? See Colin's TEDx message.
